Lesson 1

The first prophecy in the Bible is, "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15) This prophecy was declared by God Himself, Who knows everything and possesses all authority. God is the one who ordered that enmity be put between the serpent and the woman, and this enmity still exists even in our present age. It also exists between the seed of Satan and the seed of the woman. All those who perform the works of the Devil are from Satan's seed. Jesus said to the Jews, "If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8:39b-44)

Satan lied to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He said to Eve, "You will not die," but when Adam and Eve ate, they did die spiritually. In this way, everyone who performs evil and kills is from Satan's seed. Now, let us see who will come from the woman's seed. The Lord Jesus came to bruise the head of the serpent. Satan is very powerful and no human being can bruise his head. The One who will bruise Satan's head will come from the woman's seed only, that is, he will be born of a virgin and He is the One who will bruise Satan's head. Jesus is the only One who was born of a virgin. Isaiah prophesied of His birth when he said, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14) Jesus, Who was born of a virgin is Immanuel, and His name means, "God is with us." He is the one who will bruise the head of the serpent, that is Satan, by dying on the cross. Isaiah prophesied 700 years before Christ's birth when he said, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6) The Lord Jesus was born of a virgin; He is a mighty God and an everlasting Father who was able to bruise Satan's head by being a mighty God and not by being a normal human being.

How did Jesus bruise Satan's head? The writer of the Hebrews recorded in his epistle, "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." (Hebrews 2:14) Jesus destroyed the Devil by His death and thereby fulfilled the prophecy by bruising the head of the serpent, Satan. God recorded the first prophecy in the Bible and it was fulfilled through Christ's death on the cross; Who, by His death on the cross, bruised Satan's head. The bruising of the serpent's head means the perpetual death of the serpent. If you were to cut a serpent's body into two parts without bruising its head, it will not die but will live. But if you wanted to ensure its death and destruction, you would have to bruise its head. Jesus, through His death on the cross, has bruised the serpent's head! All who believe in Him now have everlasting life and will not perish, while all who do not believe in Him have already been judged because they did not believe in the name of God's only Son. Satan thought that sending Jesus to the cross would be Jesus' end, and that he would be getting rid of Him. He did not know that it is impossible for the source of life to die.

Satan incited his followers against Jesus, so that they said, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" thereby were fulfilling the first prophecy that God declared the first prophecy that the Bible recorded--the enmity between the seed of Satan and the seed of the woman. Jesus, Who is from the seed of the woman, bruised Satan's head by his death on the cross; He did not stay in the tomb, and death was not able to keep Him in the tomb. He is the source of life, and how is it possible to kill the source of life? Jesus arose on the third day, victorious over death, and wore the glorified body as He appeared to more than 500 of His disciples.

If an angel were to tell me that Jesus were not the Son of God I would not believe him. And if he were to tell me that Jesus did not die on the cross I would not believe him. The first prophecy and hundreds of the other prophecies all point to the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, Who had to die to free me from the authority of the Devil. Satan does not want me to see the light and he lies to me so that I will not believe what God says. Satan knows that anyone who believes in Jesus will depart from Satan's authority to the freedom of the glory of the children of God, or in other words, will go from death unto life and thereby have everlasting life, a life without end.

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." (John 11:25) Here Jesus was speaking of the death of the body; if this body were to die it would live again on the day of resurrection. The dead will rise first, then we, the living, will be taken with them in the clouds and be with the Lord forever. Would you like to be free from Satan's authority on your life? You are Satan's slave because you are sin's slave, because all who perform sins are slaves of sin. The only one who can free you from Satan's slavery is the One who bruised the Devil's head, and will come one day to toss him into the lake of fire and brimstone. The Lord Jesus has all authority and He is able to free you. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36) Hebrews says, "And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Hebrews 2:15) All who have believed in Jesus have passed from death unto life and have been freed from Satan's slavery, and now desire to do God's will instead of the Devil's will. They hate lying and love truth; they hate killing and desire to make peace; they run away from adultery and strive to do good.

Have you been freed from Satan's authority and slavery? If you have not yet been freed from this slavery I will tell you what to do:

First Admit your inability before God and tell him that you are a sinner and that you are unable to be free.

Second Admit before God that Satan's slavery will lead you to hell and to a lake of fire and brimstone, because the wages of sin is eternal death.

Third Believe that Jesus is the only one Who can free you from the Devil's bondage, and that He is the only one Who bruised his head. He is able, without any doubt, to transfer you from Satan's slavery unto God's freedom and eternal life. If you believe that He is the only one Who has the power, He will transfer you from death unto life. That is what He did to me when I believed that Jesus is the only One able to save me. He gave me eternal life and transferred me from darkness unto light, and I was thereby born again because He gave me a new heart and renewed in me a straight spirit.

Fourth "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10) If you would like to be saved from Satan, death, hell and the lake of fire and brimstone for eternity, then come to Jesus today! Jesus Christ can hear your voice from anywhere. If you lift your voice in prayer He can hear your request; so just ask Him. Say to Him, "Please free me from Satan's bondage and give me everlasting life."
